M4U eX is a compact and yet extremely powerful USB 3.0 MIDI interface with 8 MIDI ports.

Each of the 8 ports can either be used as a MIDI input or as a MIDI output, replacing not only traditional MIDI interfaces like it's popular predecessor models with 4 inputs and 4 outputs, but providing also other possible configurations. For instance, you can use up to 8 outputs at a time or up to 8 inputs, or 6 outputs and 2 inputs - to name some examples. And the best feature? This is all handled automatically, simply based on your connection to other MIDI inputs or MIDI outputs and each automatic input / output configuration is displayed via colored LEDs on the front panel.

M4U eX is not only one of the worlds first USB 3.0 MIDI interfaces, it also includes a USB 3.0 hub with 3 connectors for other USB equipment like software dongles or USB keyboards and others. This can literally turn this device into the central hub for your MIDI and USB musical instrument devices. The class compliant device can be bus powered or if needed for other USB devices, be powered by the included DC power supply.

The Windows 7 / 8.1 / 10 / 11 and macOS compatible device provides not only perfect timing and the highest low latency performance of any MIDI interface in it's class on the market today, it can even be used fully standalone without a computer: different operation modes allow you to route input to output signals, merge MIDI signals or use M4U eX as a MIDI thru box. These modes can be selected with the push of a button when needed.

If the 8 ports are not enough, you can connect multiple units to the computer at one time - plus there is also the larger M8U eX available, with 16 ports.

In order to get you started right out of the box, M4U eX ships with a powerful software package for professional recording, creation of your own songs, mixing of any audio content and much more. The following applications are currently included:

Cubasis LE is the compact version of Steinberg's mobile multitouch sequencer, providing the same look and feel of its bigger brother Cubasis. Specially designed for quick and easy operation, Cubasis LE makes recording, editing and mixing a breeze, no matter where you are, right there on an iPhone or iPad when connecting M4U eX.

Our website always shows the latest information on what we currently ship with our products. Depending on the production date, it can sometimes be possible that a different software package is included with the M4U eX at a local reseller. The individual solution for your workplace. With this table mount you can position a monitor up to 32" in a space-saving and ergonomic manner. The robust aluminum construction with the integrated gas pressure spring can withstand a load of 8 kg. The connection plate is for VESA sizes 75/75 and 100/100 Designed. Thanks to the large, stable table clamp (up to 85 mm thick), the complete holder can be assembled quickly and used flexibly. A height adjustment of up to 200 mm is possible here. The upper arm offers an additional 350 mm of height adjustment. Of course, the head can be used for a perfect viewing angle and a neck-friendly posture can still be tilted, turned and swiveled steplessly.

ESI M8U ex Midi Interface

Our stylish and very powerful M8U eX is a modern USB 3.0 MIDI interface with a total of 16 MIDI ports in one single device. Featuring the popular MIDI auto detection technology that was pioneered by ESI, each of these 16 ports can either be used as a MIDI input or as a MIDI output, replacing not only regular MIDI interfaces like our previous popular legacy multi port MIDI interfaces with 8 inputs and 8 outputs, but providing also other possible configurations: for instance, you can use up to 16 outputs at a time or up to 16 inputs, or any other combination, like 12 outputs and 4 inputs. Each automatic input / output configuration is displayed via colored LEDs on the front panel. If the number of ports is not enough, you can hook up multiple M8U eX to the same computer - a feature that is made easy also via the integrated fast USB 3.0 hub that allows you to connect other USB equipment like software dongles or USB keyboards and others to your computer. This literally turns M8U eX into the central hub for the MIDI and USB devices in your studio or live performance setup. The 100% fully class compliant device can even be bus powered (or if needed for other USB devices, it is powered via the included 5V DC power supply) and it works out of the box without the installation of additional drivers on Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10, Windows 11 and macOS systems (both 32-bit and 64-bit).
